The Izmir Card is a payment card that offers a variety of services provided by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, with a focus on public transportation. This card can be used for access to metro and suburban stations, ferry ports, turnstiles, and for boarding all buses. To obtain the Izmir Card, it can be purchased at Konak and Karşıyaka piers, central station toll booths for the metro system, such as Konak, Fahrettin Altay, Bornova, Halkapınar and Şirinyer, and Airport stations in the suburban system during business hours. The card can also be bought from vending machines at each station and at the Izban station box office, as well as from the special kiosk in the international arrival terminal, and from kiosks in the city.
The Izmir Card can be used for a wide range of services, including ESHOT, İZULAŞ and İZTAŞIT buses, the Izmir metro, tram, İZBAN, İZDENİZ, Bisim, Cable Car, the Izmir Natural Life Park, and the Aşık Veysel Recreation Area, as well as for services such as the Ice Rink, Smart Toilets, Izmir International Fair box offices, and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Parking Lot Management. To check the balance of the card, it can be scanned at the vending machines at the stations, or you can check the balance via the “Balance Inquiry” application on the website or mobile site. The card can also be loaded with credit card from the online loading process, but the upload via the internet is activated one hour later when it is read in the validator on boarding the public transport.
